So excited. Overheating issues

I am a professional installer and picked this amp up to push 2 alpine type s 12s in my off-road 4x4 vehicle. Was moved to purchase by the price and specs because there’s a chance it could get destroyed in my jeep on the trail and didn’t want to drop twice the money on focal or JL to go in a soft top jeep I drive on the weekends, was also super excited that this claims to be stable at 1 ohm. With my 2 2ohm dvc subs wired to 1 ohm it absolutely BANGS…..for 8 minutes flat….then it’s hot enough to cook a steak on. Ventilation is not the problem, it’s bolted directly into the bare metal under my front seat and the vehicle is doors off most of the time. Ground is not the problem, have it powered on 0 gauge wire literally welded to the chassis. I’m going to tear apart my custom box and rewire to 2 ohms and try again. Hopefully it calms it down with more impedance. I’m sure it’s a good product, everybody else seems to have good reviews(another factor that led to my decision to purchase) but I’m a bit underwhelmed on the outcome. It’s no fun pulling your interior out twice and rebuilding a custom box, breaking sealed gaskets, and rewiring, for a chance for it to work properly. If you buy this amp, for the love of all that is good in this world I would highly suggest not wiring down to 1 ohm on anything remotely power hungry. Also, my gain, well really all my settings are zeroed out to the bare minimum at this point, has not corrected the issue in the slightest. Original purchase was brand new from Sonic Electronix. Wish you guys the best.

Works good! Nice and small so easy to mount

Works good! Small and powerful, have it running a sundown 12 1000rms, it has no issues. Only complaint is i wish the controls were on the top not the side so easier tuning after installed. Also wish the power inputs were 1/0 instead of 4 gauge
